This self-started project pays homage the colorful world of motorsports through a series of posters inspired by modernist graphic design and typography.
Traditionally, racing drivers design their own helmet decoration early in their careers and tend to stick to it for several years, if not decades. Over time, these forms and color schemes become iconic visuals that act as a symbol and as a signature for each racer, while helping fans recognize their favorite champions when in action. As a life-long racing fan, for this passion project I decided to explore how the very spirit of these designs could be distilled into a series of illustrations.
